African Shaddock

[kontakt os for pris]

The African Shaddock is similar to a grapefruit but not bitter. The flavor is very complex and the segments themselves are meaty in texture. The cells that make up the fruit are large and that gives it a meaty texture as you can see in the picture. Also, you don't have to eat it with a spoon. You can peel each segment right out of the skin. This unique fruit was discovered by Captain Shaddock in Southeast Asia and transported to South Africa. It was used as not only a fruit, but also as a room freshener, as it has a very pleasant, subtle fragrance, when stored at room temperature. The fragrance of the fruit is also in the flavor of the fruit that has to be tasted to be appreciated.
