This is the original sweet orange from Valencia, Spain that was started all over our part of the globe, in the 16th century, as the Spanish started their conquest of the New World. Several varieties are grown at Deer Creek Heights Ranch. One relatively new variety is called Olinda (Oh! Linda). This orange has a thin skin with very few seeds and is very sweet early. While industry standards require an 8.0 sugar level. All of our stores want it much higher, at a 10-12 sugar level. Our test is, "Will the customer really like it and come back for more?" Some Valencia oranges may have a green cap on the stem end. This is perfectly natural as we do not artificially color our fruit and never add wax or fungicides in our processing.
