Minneloa Tangelo

W.T. Swingle and others developed the Minneola Tangelo, one of the worlds widest grown citrus hybrids, in 1931, at the USDA facility in Florida. It is a cross between a Duncan grapefruit and a Dancy Tangerine that produces a fruit of a high red/orange color. Almost seedless, it has the distinctive rich aroma and combination sweet/tart flavor when harvested later in the season, as is done at Deer Creek Heights Ranch. You will need a napkin when eating this fruit because it is so sweet and juicy.
