Dancy Tangerine

[Contact us for a price]

This is one of the original tangerines thought to originate in lands near what is now India and eventually introduced into China and Japan hundreds of years ago and eventually into the desert lands of North Africa where it flourished with many of the other citrus we now know. There it was rediscovered by G. L. Dancy in Morocco and brought to Florida in 1867. This sweet tangerine, of unusually high red-orange color, is easily identified by its distinctive flavor and aroma. It has high heat unit requirements to grow properly, which make Deer Creek Heights Ranch one of the ideal places to raise this variety.
