Oro Blanco Pomelo-Grapefruit

[Contact us for a price]

This "White Gold" is one of the two varieties patented by the University of California as a cross between a pomelo and a grapefruit. It is sometimes picked green-but not by us, as it is best when it is ripe and attains a golden yellow color. The flesh is yellow/white, very sweet, very juicy, and is low acid. Because the membrane is bitter to some people, the fruit should be eaten as a grapefruit. It is the sister cross to the Melogold and matures about a month earlier. It has a fairly thick skin, but the flavor is outstanding.
