MeloGold Pomelo-Grapefruit

[Contact us for a price]

This a cross of a pomelo and a grapefruit, with the same parentage as the Oro Blanco, both of which are patented varieties of the University of California. It is a larger fruit than the Oro Blanco and has much larger sections and a thinner skin, and the shape tends to follow the pomelo side of the family. It is low in acid, is very sweet and is a great keeper. It matures in December and is usually available through March. It has a deep yellow color when fully ripe and is very juicy.
